| THROWING |
| There isn't any one correct way to hold the disc but a good grip is essential for a good throw. For a simple backhand throw, hold the disc with your thumb on top and fingers underneath as if you were going to shake hands. Hold it firmly and comfortably. |
|
| This is the most common throw and has four steps: |
|
| Experiment with your wrist angle, this is what makes the disc flight straight or curved. |
|
| The SpinJammer, of course, can be caught in the same manner that you would catch a conventional disc. But, the cone in the center adds a new dimension. The cane is called the Whatchamastallit. |
| THE WHATCHMASTALLIT |
|
| The Whatchamastallit is an evolution of the plastic flat ball. It
is the cone in the center of the disc which allows anyone to master the "stall"
in an instant and freestyle like a pro. The cone allows the player to catch the disc
off-center. The cone draws the finger to the center of the disc for perfect balance. |
| The stall is a basic maneuver which is a "set up" for complex freestyle moves. |
| SELF-STARTING |
| Hold the SpinJammer firmly in both hands with fingertips pointing
upward. Now, toss and turn the disc simultaneously upward about two feet above your head
(this allows time for you to locate the tip of your finger inside the Whatchamastallit).
For best results, synchronize your hand with the downward motion of the disc. (Never lunge
or poke at the disc.) A good rule of thumb to remember for stalling the SpinJammer is to treat it like catching an egg. |
|
| Note: For longer spin bend the tip of your finger so that the disc is spinning on your nail. Spinning the disc on the pad of your finger creates friction and greatly reduces spin-time. |
