The Spinjammer Course |
|
| SOME BASICS |
| SpinJammer is the sport of today. Flying discs have been around for a few decades now and practically everyone has thrown one at some time. Frisbee@ was the first flying disc and has been enjoyed by many for recreation as well as in competition. |
| Now it is time for disc sports to come of age
with the introduction of SpinJammer
State-of the-Art Flying Disc.
This disc is both revolutionary and evolutionary from conventional flying discs. It is a "high-tech" flying disc. Its unique design and cone make
advanced disc maneuvers simple for people of all ages. |
|
| In teaching this course you will find that your students have had positive experiences with disc play in the past. This will generate strong interest in your SpinJammer class. They will enjoy the opportunity to play with the disc in an educational setting. |
| One of the features of SpinJammer is that it is a co-ed game. It requires no special training and people of ail ages and sizes can play with equal advantage. Instead of muscle; coordination and concentration make a good disc player. |

| SpinJammer is a versatile sport and can be played both indoors and outdoors in various sized areas. Although SpinJammer is very enjoyable on a warm spring day, indoor games in the colder months can also be great fun. |
| SpinJammer can be played individually in freestyle or distance or as a team game like UltraFlow. Activity can be from light to heavy exercise. It can be either an aerobic or a non-aerobic activity. |
| The equipment cost of SpinJammer games is low. UltraFIow is created to be played on a soccer field. Schools may purchase SpinJammers directly from Sandeen Inc. at a special rate. Click here for WEB SPECIAL! |
| CLASS STRUCTURING |
| Class structuring is
important to keeping the students interest. SpinJammer Sport guide is designed to aid in course
instruction. Use it as an outline to help format your class. Pay close attention to the
fundamentals and make sure your students learn and understand them. If they don't, they
may become frustrated in later games and sports with the SpinJammer |
| Start each class session
with your usual warm ups and exercises. Then practice
throwing and catching for a short while to warm up the arm and
make throwing adjustments for accuracy.
Have a review session going over skills learned from past sessions and apply new skills or
teach new games. Allow fifteen to twenty minutes for actual game time, skills testing, or
free play, and end the session with coaching tips and home practice instruction. |
| ADAPTIVE PHYSICAL EDUCATION |
| SpinJammer can be used in Adaptive Physical Education
programs as a game or to develop and sustain motor skills. Students that are in adaptive
programs because of injury can perform basic tricks that will involve very little risk.
Even students who are restricted to chairs can play games like catch and cone catcher, and
coming soon indoor UltraFlow. SpinJammer is a fun alternative for these children that
can't perform in a usual P.E. environment. |
PROPER CARE |
| Proper care of SpinJammer will prolong its life. Use it on grassy areas, sand or indoor laminated areas only. Asphalt or cement surfaces will scratch the disc. Silicone lubricant spray or furniture wax may be used on the inside of the SpinJammer to make an extra slick surface for a longer freestyle spin. SpinJammer is made of a plastic material that can withstand temperatures as low as -30 degrees Fahrenheit. |
